F-1. How do I upgrade my BTC modem to V.90?  

 
F-1. How do I upgrade my BTC modem to V.90?
a. For K56I
  The upgrading process must be done in Windows 95 or Windows 98:
  1. Close all Windows applications.
  2. Run Flashv90.exe, whcih is in your driver diskette or you can download v90w95i.zip from BTC website.
  3. When K56I is found, click the [Load Now] button in 'Modem Flash Memory Loader' windows.
  4. Click `Yes` to start upgrading process. Please DO NOT interrupt the upgrading process.
  5. After installation successfully, the 'Load Successfully' message will show up. Click [Close] and the new firmware ID: V2.083.B1-56K_DLP will appear.
  6. Power down your PC and restart.
   
  b. For K56E
  The upgrading process must be done in Windows 95 or Windows 98:
  1. Close all Windows applications.
  2. Run Flashv90.exe. It is in your driver disk (CD) or you can download v90w95e.zip from BTC website.
  3. When K56e is found, click the [Load Now] button in 'Modem Flash Memory Loader' windows.
  4. Click `Yes` to start upgrading. Please DO NOT interrupt the upgrading process.
  5. After installation successfully, the 'Load Successfully' message will show up. Click [Close] and the new firmware ID: V2.08.B1-K56_DLS will appear.
  6. Power down both your modem and computer and restart.
     
  c. For 56IP
  1. Unzip the compressed file in a directory, say: X (if you have the driver in zip format)
  2. Uninstall the old one with "Control Panel / Pctel HSP Modem".
  3. Shut down and restart your PC.
  4. Install the driver stored in X folder when Windows finds your modem.
     
  d. Note that BTC 56IPI is V.90 and K56flex ready with auto-detection.
